What We Do
Our community-based model focuses on supporting and empowering our Special Stars (orphans and vulnerable children) not just when they are little but when they leave school -we then call them our Rising Stars. We also support and empower the Guiding Stars (guardians and key mentors in the community).
In fact we want all our Stars to grow to be guiding stars to other Special stars. Through this we break the negative cycle of brokenness replacing it with this ongoing positive cycle of growth in individual lives, and also in communities, starting with Bhambayi.

Special Star Sponsorship
We have over 80 school-going Special Stars (orphans and vulnerable children) on our programme.

Youth Worker Support
Our Special Stars are visited in their homes by youth workers who give love and support, identify and address issues, and help encourage them to unlock their potential.

Rising Stars
With youth unemployment amongst the highest in the world, our programmes cannot end when our Special Stars leave matric.

Maths Club
We run a Maths Club every Friday afternoon with our Grade R-12 Special Stars (orphans) with approximately 100 children.

Empowerment
Life skills training and talent development are key to unlocking our Special Stars' potential and growing their self-confidence.

School Bursaries
Two of our Maths Club girls have been awarded bursaries to Inanda Seminary, a girls' private school, due to their maths results.

Guardian Support
Guardian support is crucial to the success of our community-based orphan support model. Abuse in the home often arises from the immense emotional stress that guardians face.

Early Childhood Development
Siyathuthuka Creche and Preschool is run by Lillian Mokoatle and has about 280 children attending.

Community Upliftment
From a thriving sewing club led by Thembi, a talented lady who is wheel-chair bound (sewing everything from uniforms to backpacks to school library bags) to vegetable gardens helping sustain families...
